If something went wrong, it helps to include your device model, iOS version, the original video’s size and length, and the size you chose. You don’t need to send the video. If Snug shows an error, tap Report This Problem and these details are filled in for you.
Frequently asked questions
- Why is my video smaller than the size I chose?
- Snug leaves a little room so the result never goes over your limit. It counts 1 MB as 1,000,000 bytes, which keeps you within what apps allow.
- Does Snug change or delete my original?
- Never. The result is always saved as a new item in Photos or as a new file in the folder you chose.
- Can I switch apps while a video is shrinking?
- On iOS 26 or later, yes. It keeps going and shows its progress in the system. On earlier versions, keep Snug open until it’s done. If you force quit Snug, just start again.
- My video wasn’t saved to Photos.
- Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Photos > Snug and allow adding photos. Then tap Save Again on the result screen.
- Snug says it can’t convert HDR to SDR.
- Choose HEVC and turn on Keep HDR. Your HDR video will stay in HDR.
- Is Snug free?
- Yes. As a launch offer, every feature is free right now. If you get Snug during the launch offer, it stays free for you for life, even after a one-time Lifetime Pass arrives. It will never be a subscription.
